Many Luxembourg gardens cannot take an eight-metre basin, and do not need one. The mini pool — under 10 m² of water surface — answers a cooling-off and relaxation use rather than swimming lengths. It also simplifies the works, which matters when the house is terraced or the access is tight.

Site access: the real criterion in town
A shell arrives in one piece. On a town-centre plot or between two houses, the question is therefore not the size of the garden but the route in: available width, height under cables, whether a crane can be set up in the street. A mini pool widens the range of feasible plots considerably, but the technical visit is still what decides.
Permissions: do not generalise
You often read that below a certain threshold a pool needs no formalities. In the Grand Duchy the rules sit in each commune’s building regulations: the threshold, the setback from boundaries and the treatment of impermeable surfaces are not handled the same way everywhere. Check with your communal administration before ordering — we flag the points to watch, but the application stays on your side.
